Thai army chief visits Pattani

BANGKOK, Sept 9 (TNA) -- Thai Army Chief Gen Theerachai Nakwanich and delegation had earlier today, arrived in Siridhorn Army Camp in Yarang district of the Thai southern province of Pattani to follow up on the progress to solve peace problems in the region. The army chief, in his capacity as the Deputy Director-general of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) had called a meeting with concerned agencies to follow up on the violent cases in the southernmost region, after many areas were attacked by explosions. The army chief were then briefed on the progress of the important projects being implemented in the region, including the Role Model City project in line with the strategy of economic triangle model called "Security, Sustainability and Wealth", after which Gen Theerachai also inspected the synergy of the CCTV system at the ISOC Region 4 Forward Command. The army chief then used the opportunity to express his thanks to all relevant agencies for doing their best to help solve the problem which gradually improved the situation in the region. (TNA)
