Thai PM congratulates Moon Jae-in on South Korean election

BANGKOK, May 10 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday extended his congratulations to Moon Jae-in on his election as the new President of South Korea. Moon, 64, won the presidential election and was just sworn into office, officially becoming the 19th president of the Republic of Korea. Deputy government spokesman Veerachon Sukhonpatipak said Prime Minister Prayut, on behalf of the government and Thai people, extended his warmest congratulations to Moon for his victory. General Prayut also stressed that he is ready to work with the new South Korean president to strengthen bilateral ties as the two nations commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2018.
