Thailand supports peace talks between Palestine, Israel

BANGKOK, May 5 (TNA) -- Thailand supports peace negotiation between Palestine and Israel for the sake of security in the Middle East. The message was extended to Mahmoud Al Hubbash, advisor for religious and Islamic affairs to the Palestinian Authority President, who called on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on May 4. Deputy government spokesman Werachon Sukondhapatipak quoted the prime minister as saying that the visit would boost relations, especially religious ones. He also said that Thailand and Palestine agreed to promote cultural exchange. Both sides exchanged views on peace processes in the Middle East. The prime minister stressed that Thailand supported peace negotiation between Palestine and Israel and wished to see their peaceful co-existence and a clear border through a two-state solution. He urged both countries to resume their negotiation for the sake of permanent security and peace. The advisor to the Palestinian president expressed gratitude towards Thailand’s support and viewed that peaceful solutions would work and violence would not, Lt Gen Werachon said. (TNA)
