THOMSON REUTERS RUNS TRAINING AT MONTSAME

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The "News Writing" training has been run at the MONTSAME news agency by the Thomson Reuters foundation. Initiated by our MONTSAME and the Thomson Reuters, the course ran November 19-23 at the agency. It was led by Ms Toni Reinhold, a journalist, an editor of the Thomson Reuters Foundation and a president of the Newswomen's club of New-York, a vice president of Overseas Press Club. She is also an editor-in-charge in New York, has been named one of 21 leaders for the 21st century. The participants were representatives of the MONTSAME, the United National Development Programme /UNDP/, daily newspapers "Today" and "UB post". A Certificate Presentation ceremony ran November 23. The Director-General of the MONTSAME Mr A.Baatarkhuyag said that the training was very successful, and expressed a gratitude to the Thomson Reuters foundation and Ms Reinhold. In the future, "we will organize various trainings together with international organizations," he added. A secretary-general of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists Kh.Batkhishig also thanked the Reuters for this "wonderful course" and the MONTSAME for initiating it. Then Ms Reinhold said she is confident that the training was successful and thanked for giving her a chance to visit Mongolia and to meet hard working Mongolian journalists. Ch.Enkhtuya
