THREE SWORN IN AS MP

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Newly elected D.Arvin, D.Sarangerel and G.Batkhuu were sworn in as the members of parliament Thursday. Now the State Great Khural has 73 members. Before this, Ovorkhangai aimag had not have its parliamentary representation due to a conflict that continued in the locality's constituency for months. In October, the General Election Commission (GEC) announced democrats G.Batkhuu and D.Zorigt the winners of the constituency and submitted a resolution on it to parliament, but the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) protested this decision. for this reason, only G.Batkhuu is becoming the representation of Ovorkhangai province so far. Ms D.Arvin was elected the MP as a result of the re-voting which ran together with the elections of Citizens' Representative Khural of aimags, soums and the city's districts on November 21. She becomes the MP for the fourth time. Ms D.Sarangerel has automatically become the MP replacing U.Khurelsukh who had asked to free him from parliamentary membership. Despite this swearing-in, the State Great Khural is still incomplete. Other three MPs must be elected from the constituencies of Ovorkhangai, the city's Songinokhairkhan district through the majority system, and from the "Justice" coalition through the proportional system.
