Turkey’s ex-president sentenced to life imprisonment

Baku, Azerbaijan, June 18 Trend: Turkey's former president Ahmet Kenan Evren has been sentenced to life imprisonment, Turkish TRT Haber reported on June 18. Evren assumed the president's post following a military coup in 1980. Ahmet Kenan Evren's life imprisonment was also previously demanded during the trial held in January 2012.
