Turkey cannot remain silent to what happens in Syria, deputy premier says

BURSA (A.A) - February 5, 2011 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said on Sunday that Turkish government could not remain silent to what has happened in Syria. Replying to questions of reporters at a gathering in northwestern province of Bursa, Arinc said that Syrian administration must end violence on Syrian people. In regard to recent heavy operations in Homs, Arinc said that nearly 500 people were killed in these operations and they were deeply sad over it. (Syrian President Bashar) Assad and his troops bombarded Hama and Homs on a holy night for Muslims and left nearly 500 people dead, he said. Turkey would take steps supporting Syrian people and do it utmost for them, he said.
