Turkish deputy premier receives EU commissioner

ANKARA (A.A) - February 9, 2012 - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay received European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid & Crisis Response Kristalina Georgieva in Ankara on Thursday. Atalay told reporters prior to the meeting that they would share Turkey's experiences about natural disasters. We are working on a new system about disaster management, said Atalay, adding that the responsibility belonged to governors while managing the disasters in provinces. Meanwhile, Georgieva said that it was important to get prepared in disaster management, adding that she wanted to learn more about Turkey's activities regarding the issue.
