Turkish environment minister receives Bahrain's housing minister

ANKARA (A.A) - February 2, 2012 - Turkish Environment & Urbanization Minister Erdogan Bayraktar received Bahrain's Minister of Housing Basim bin Yacub al-Hamar in Ankara on Thursday. Bayraktar said that Turkey was behind the most developed countries of the world in construction sector and construction materials area, adding that Turkey was willing to make high-level cooperations in those areas. If commercial relations between Turkey and Bahrain developed, it would contribute to improvement of both countries, said Bayraktar. Bahrain recorded a consistent development in the past nine years, he added. Noting that Turkey wanted to take responsibility especially in spatial planning in Bahrain, Bayraktar said that Turkey wanted to share its experiences in spatial planning by signing a protocol with Bahrain. Al-Hamar said that they wanted to construct social house-dwelling worth of six billion USD in Bahrain within the next ten years, and they could use experiences of Turkey in this area.
