Turkish FM meets counterparts after SECP meeting in Belgrade
BELGRADE (A.A) - February 1, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday met with his counterparts as well as with Serbian president after an informal meeting of foreign ministers of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SECP) member-states in Belgrade, Serbia.
Davutoglu met with Montenegrin FM Milan Rocen, Croatian FM Vesna Pusic, Macedonian FM Nikola Poposki and Greek FM Stavros Dimas and Serbian President Boris Tadic.
Davutoglu and Pusic discussed latest developments in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as economic crisis in the European Union. The two ministers also discussed plans to hold a tripartite meeting between Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
The Turkish foreign minister discussed with his Macedonian counterpart ways to improve bilateral relations as well as European Union economic crisis and its effects on the Balkans.
Davutoglu's meeting with his Greek counterpart took up a prospective meeting between senior Turkish and Greek diplomats later in February and a meeting of the high level strategic council of the two countries.
Following his talks, the Turkish FM attended a dinner hosted by Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic for his counterparts participated in the SECP meeting.
Davutoglu later left Serbia for Turkey.
