Turkish foreign minister meets U.S. secretary of defense
WASHINGTON (A.A) - February 14, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta on Monday.
DOD's spokesman George Little said that concerns of Turkey and the U.S. about Syria issue, ongoing cooperation on Afghanistan as well as joint security interests of Turkey and the U.S. were high on the agenda of Davutoglu-Panetta meeting.
Little said that Panetta thanked Turkey for its ongoing contributions under NATO and its decision to host early-warning radar of NATO.
Davutoglu departed from the United States early on Tuesday.
During his visit to the U.S., Davutoglu held meetings with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Panetta and National Security Advisor Thomas Donilon, and held talks at U.S. Congress.
