ABU DHABI, 10th November, 2015 (WAM) – The UAE on Wednesday, 11th November, will officially receive the presidency over the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT), an international alliance dedicated to combating online child abuse and exploitation, under the chairmanship of Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. VGT, which is an international coalition comprising law enforcement agencies of global powers and private sector partners, fights against the exploitation of children via the internet. Last April, the body selected the UAE for the 3-year presidency, from 2015-2018. Dr. Al Nuaimi said that the UAE's selection for the presidency proves its leading international standing, and the determination of its leadership to become a distinguished centre for child protection, and for raising awareness on the dangers of modern technology, adding that "providing internet security for all children is part of our responsibility." The official change of chair will take place in Abu Dhabi tomorrow when Dr. Al Nuaimi, will assume the duties from Ian Quinn, Deputy Assistant Director and Head of Cyber Crimes Centre at US Homeland Security Investigations. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395287833855.html
