U.A.E. Cabinet approves agreements

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The Cabinet, yesterday at a meeting chaired His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, at the Presidential Palace, approved a number a number of agreements between U.A.E. and other countries.
These agreements, which are aimed at enhancing U.A.E.'s international cooperation and serving U.A.E.'s interests, are: two agreements with Serbia and Montenegro on the reciprocal exemption of holders of special and diplomatic passports from entry visa; an agreement with Lithuania on the avoidance of double taxation on income and on tax evasion; an agreement with Afghanistan on security cooperation; three agreements with Russia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka on extradition, legal and judicial assistance.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of U.A.E. embassies in Cuba, Angola and Mozambique, as well as a general consulate in Toronto, Canada.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law on combating animal communicable diseases as part of its efforts to protect public health and safety and food security.
The law on animal communicable diseases regulates the procedures of monitoring, epidemic investigation, reporting diseases and preventive measures against communicable and epidemics.
The Cabinet also approved the reshuffling of the board of directors of National Transport Authority (NTA) which will be chaired by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works. The members of the board of NTA are Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Yousuf Saleh Al Suwaiji, Director General of Sharjah Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), Mohammed Salim Al Zahmi, Director of the Office of Fujairah Crown Prince, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Acting Director-General of Federal Customs Authority (FCA), Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, and a representative of the Public Works Ministry. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
