UAE Foreign Ministry organises workshop on investment, partnership with Latin America

The Department of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organised a workshop to discuss opportunities for investment and partnership with Latin American countries. Some 70 Emirati governmental, semi-governmental and private organisations participated in the workshop, aimed at bolstering relations with Latin America through exchanging views about opportunities for investments and new partnerships and ways of promoting economic and trade cooperation in various spheres and sectors. Welcoming the participants and ambassadors of Lain American countries, Director of the Department of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation, Fahad Al Tafaq, commended the unique relations between the two sides and said the workshop shows the interest the UAE takes in advancing these relations to higher levels to serve common interests. The official also thanked representatives of the participating organisations for their continuous cooperation with the ministry and expressed the hope that the meeting would contribute towards opening new avenues for cooperation with Latin America, creating new investment opportunities and strategic partnerships. Presentations given during the meeting threw light on investment opportunities in various sectors in Argentina, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador, including energy, tourism, industry, technology, mining, peaceful nuclear energy, environment, infrastructure, agriculture and natural resources.
