UAE, Indonesia sign two extradition and legal assistance agreements

Abu Dhabi (WAM) : The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Indonesia have signed two judicial agreements: the first on extradition and the second on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
Dr. Hadef bin Joan Al Dhahiri, Minister of Justice signed on the behalf of the UAE, while Amir Shamsuddin, Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Indonesia signed on the behalf of his country. Present were Mohammed bin Hamad Al Badi, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, assistant under secretaries and Salman Al Farsi, Ambassador of Indonesia to UAE.
Al Dhahiri praised the depth of cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Indonesia, as well as keenness on upgrading the fruitful cooperation. He welcomed the Indonesian Minister and the delegation. He added that the Ministries of Justice in both countries are embarked on bolstering the joint cooperation through striking the legal agreements and exchange of expertise to benefit from mutual experiences.
The UAE Justice Minister briefed the Indonesian delegation on the UAE experience, its judicial system, the ministry's strategy in accordance with the federal government initiatives.
For his part, the Indonesian Minister thanked the UAE and the Justice Minister on good hospitality, noting that the agreements would further boost the joint cooperation. He appreciated the UAE's pioneer judicial experience. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
