UAE presents first national report on Arab human rights charter at the Arab League

Cairo: A session to discuss UAE's first national report on the Arab human rights charter, which was presented to the Arab Human Rights Commission, was concluded yesterday. Ambassador of UAE to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri headed the UAE delegation during the two-day session. During the interactive session, Al Dhaheri said the UAE ratified the Arab human rights charter on 15th January 2008 by virtue of the federal decree no. 93 and expressed no reservations on its articles. The UAE was among the first seven Arab states to deposit their instruments for ratifying the Charter which entered into force on 16th March 2008. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
