UAE urges international community to help Palestinians
Geneva, March 21. 2013 (WAM) - The Permanent Representative of the UAE at the United Nations in Geneva Obaid Salim Al Za'abi UAE highlighted the tragic conditions of Palestinian children who suffer from malnutrition, arrest, forced displacement and aggression in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (oPTs).
Citing recent reports by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, and the Fact-finding Mission on Israeli Settlements in the , Al Za'abi urged for immediate international action to protect Palestinian children.
He made his remarks at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council meeting, as part of its 22nd session which runs between 25 February - 22 March 2013 in Geneva.
He attributed the tragic conditions of Palestinian children to the Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories and its settlement policy which is destroying all members of the Palestinian society including children, women and old people.
The UAE representative urged the international community to assimilate the fact that the future of Palestinian children and their natural growth is not possible without giving them their full rights in a free and independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
