Abu Dhabi (WAM): Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs has described the first formal session of Libya's newly elected House of Representatives as "a positive development that encourages optimism during the sensitive and critical circumstances which Libya is going through." "As we congratulate the brotherly people of Libya on this tangible political development, we look forward to seeing this important step as the beginning of the way out of the political and security impasse that exposes Libya and the future of its people to real existential challenges," said Minister Gargash.
He further expressed his hope that Libya's House of Representative will play an all-encompassing institutional role in order to overcome the current challenges and back the necessary political and institutional track building on the parliamentary institution's importance and stature for the Libyan people.
Minister Gargash reiterated that U.A.E., acting out of fraternity and pan-Arab nationalism, supports and stands for the brotherly people of Libya and their aspirations for security and stability and for establishing a successful developmental and political experience that helps fulfil their legitimate hopes.
