UN Chief: Iran Nuclear Issue To Be Resolved Through Talks

New York, April 21, IRNA – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Friday that Iran’s nuclear issue will be resolved through talks and that dialog is the only option to settle the political dispute. Ban made the remarks in a UN Security Council meeting in which he welcomed the results of talks recently held between Iran and the G5+1 in Istanbul. Observing the Non-Proliferation Treaty and wining the confidence of the international community on the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program is the only acceptable way of resolving the issue, he said. Meanwhile, Ban cautioned that at present thousands of nuclear warheads are threatening human society./end
