UN Security Council CTED Mission starts working in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2019. / Kabar /. The monitoring mission of the UN Security Council of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) has begun working in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The purpose of the visit of this mission is to familiarize with the work carried out by Kyrgyzstan and the results achieved in the field of combating terrorism, extremism and radicalization in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
As part of their work, members of the delegation of the CTED will meet with representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the Kyrgyz Republic involved in countering terrorist threats, to exchange information on the results achieved by the Kyrgyz side, changes in the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the implementation of recommendations based on the results of the mission’s last visit in 2016.
The report of the monitoring mission will be submitted to the members of the UN Security Council, after which relevant proposals be developed to strengthen the security system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
