US, Its Regional Allies Fuel Conflicts In Syria: Indian Leader

New Delhi, June 8, IRNA – An Indian leader Saturday said that the US and its regional allies have fueled conflicts in Syria.
In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Tasleem Ahmed Rahmani, President Muslim Political Front said, “Anti-government armed groups, backed by the US and its regional allies, have committed war crimes”.
He noted that the Zionist and imperialist powers, are backing rebels to overthrow Bashar Al-Assad regime and install a pro-western regime in Syria. That’s why these hegemonic powers do not let resolve the conflicts.
Rahmani further noted that the West’s interference is changing the contours of the conflict into a sectarian strife. “Which, if not controlled by the UN, would create a chaotic situation and threaten regional peace and stability,” he added.
He regretted that what the world is facing today is due to the imperialist’s quest for global hegemony.
The Indian politician, while rejecting any kind of foreign military intervention in Syria, declared that he is against all efforts to destabilize the situation in that war-torn country and underlined the need to settle the crisis through diplomatic efforts.
He stressed that it is for the people of Syria to decide how to resolve their problems and what type of political system they require.
“The US and its allies have no right to intervene in Damascus domestic affairs and violate the sovereignty of Syria in the name of humanitarian efforts. They (US and its allies) must be stopped by the world bodies and peace-seeking countries of the region and the world,” concluded Rahmani./end
