Wall St. protesters should oppose U.S.-sponsored terrorism: IRGC official

TEHRAN, Nov.10 (MNA) – Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said that Wall Street protesters should object to the U.S. government’s policy of sponsoring terrorism. “Our message for the Wall Street movement is that they should protest against U.S.-sponsored terrorism… and do not allow their evil rulers to further damage their country’s reputation,” Jazayeri said on Wednesday. In response to two former U.S. officials, namely Jack Keane and Reuel Marc Gerecht, who called for the killing of IRGC commanders at the U.S. Congress’s Homeland Security Committee on October 26, he said that if the U.S. does not apologize, it will come to serious harm. “The IRGC’s response will make them regret their terrorist actions,” he said. It is surprising that some U.S. officials are unaware of the vulnerable situation of their compatriots, who are based in the region near the Islamic republic of Iran, he said. In addition, he said that if the users of the Internet, media people, and bloggers fulfill their obligations, a new popular movement against the U.S.-sponsored terrorism will emerge. Iran will make no concession to hegemons In response to White House spokesman Jay Carney’s remarks on November 7, Jazayeri said that the hegemonistic system is seeking to force concessions from Iran, but the Islamic Republic will never give in to pressure. According to the Associated Press, Carney said the U.S. continues to focus on using diplomatic channels to pressure Iran to abandon its nuclear program. But he added that the U.S. also will keep all options open. “We, of course, never remove from the table any option in a situation like this, but we are very focused on diplomacy,” he said. The IRGC official also said that while the U.S. is in its worst situation, it repeatedly talks about the possibility of a military attack on Iran, adding it shows that the U.S. government is trying to divert attention from its problems.
