West cannot provoke another regional crisis: Iran`s ex-foreign minister

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – Certain Western countries, spearheaded by the United States and other NATO members, are not capable of provoking a new crisis in the region, former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati said. Velayati, who is the Leader’s senior advisor and the director of the Permanent Secretariat of World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, made the remarks during an interview with the Mehr News Agency in Tehran on Monday. In reply to a question about the recent threats issued by the Zionist regime against Iran, he stated that Israel is in no position to take an action against the Islamic Republic. Commenting on the crises caused by the West in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine in 2001, 2003, 2006, and 2008 respectively, Velayati said that they cannot endure the negative consequences of the crises they have sparked let alone create another crisis.
