Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of Country: results and plans for 2020

Bishkek, Jan.9, 2020./Kabar/. Head of the Department for Policy of Strategic Development, Economic and Finance of President’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Sydykov told reporters about the results of the work done over the past two years and plans for 2020.
By Presidential Decree, this year has been declared the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children.
Imanaliyev reminded during this time, the legislation in the sphere of support of regional development has changed significantly, and work has been done to strengthen the revenue potential in local budgets.
Thus, in 2019 the amount reached KGS 2 billion, according to the results of the current year is expected to increase to KGS 2.1 billion.
Last year, priority regional projects were financed by KGS 500 million through the program of preferential lending.
About KGS 2 billion have been calculated in the national budget for 2020 to support expert oriented enterprises.
Within the framework of regional development, the task was set, first of all, to improve infrastructure. Water supply and irrigation facilities were built through the Taza Suu (Clean Water) and other projects.
Water supply facilities were conducted and constructed in 100 villages out of 653. As part of the road infrastructure renovation, 828 km of roads were built and repaired, and last year 141.3 km of roads were asphalted in regional centers. Work on gasification is continuing. Plans have been put to cover up to 60% by 2030.
In his speech, the head of the department drew attention to the digitalization of the republic, where special attention was also paid to infrastructure issues - providing regions with high-speed Internet.
Imanaliyev assured that today all state bodies are connected to the Tunduk system of interdepartmental electronic interaction, private structures are also involved, 16 commercial banks have already been connected.
"Some projects are planned to be realized under the Safe City project. Unified Data Center will be built in order to exchange information between state bodies.
In terms of cybersecurity, we set the task of formation of systems for the protection of personal data, compliance with cybersecurity and digital ethics. The principle of interaction with the private sector will also be actively applied," he assured.
At the end he added an automated ambulance system will be installed in Osh in the future (similar to the capital one), it is planned to transfer all medical institutions to non-cash payments in order to ensure maximum transparency and automation of all processes for the convenience of citizens.
