President Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping

Bishkek, May 18, 2023. /Kabar/. Today, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met in Xi'an with ChinesePresident Xi Jinping as part of his state visit to the People's Republic of China (PRC).

During the meeting the two leaders discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the agenda of the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit, the implementation of top-level agreements and joint projects in various fields.

Xi Jinping thanked Sadyr Zhaparov for accepting the invitation, noting that his state visit to China confirms the high level of bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese president recalled their previous meetings with Sadyr Zhaparov, as a result of which agreements were reached and a number of important bilateral cooperation projects are being consistently implemented.

Xi Jinping expressed confidence that the ongoing projects will give a powerful impetus to the entire complex of Chinese-Kyrgyz cooperation.

At the same time, he noted that Sadyr Zhaparov was highly appreciated by the Kyrgyz people, emphasizing that under his leadership, Kyrgyzstan is achieving high socio-economic results.

Speaking about the China-Central Asia Summit, the Chinese leader emphasized that it would become an important milestone and open a new era of cooperation.

"We must strengthen this format of interaction," Xi Jinping said.

During the conversation, he also outlined the key areas of joint cooperation - increasing mutual trade, practical implementation of trade and economic cooperation programs, increasing direct flights, establishing twinning ties between regions, strengthening exchanges through law enforcement agencies, strengthening traditional friendship and cooperation, bringing bilateral relations to new level, implementation of projects in the field of hydropower, etc.

The Chinese president also expressed readiness for cooperation in the field of agriculture, transport, education, modernization of checkpoints, global and regional security.

Sadyr Zhaparov, in turn, thanked Xi Jinping for the invitation to pay a state visit to China and take part in the Central Asia-China Summit.

The head of state congratulated the president of the People's Republic of China and the entire Chinese people on the successful holding of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China, two sessions and his re-election as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China.

“I am sure that China, under your wise leadership, will achieve new inspiring successes in political and socio-economic development, and will further strengthen its high authority in the international arena. We expect that the current visit will give a significant impetus to deepening our interstate relations and raising them to the new highest quality level - a comprehensive strategic partnership,” he said.

The president stressed that the Kyrgyz side has high expectations from the upcoming Central Asia-China Summit. This dialogue platform is an important mechanism for interaction, discussion and decision-making on issues relevant to the region and of interest to all six states.

“I note with great satisfaction that Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are at the highest level today. There are no political disagreements or unresolved issues between our countries. We provide each other with support on topical, vital issues for each of our states. The high level of political mutual trust provides an excellent opportunity to expand and build up trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between our countries,” the head of state noted.

He emphasized with great satisfaction that China is one of the main trade and investment partners of Kyrgyzstan. There is a dynamic growth of mutual trade, the volume of investments of the Chinese side in the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

Sadyr Zhaparov paid special attention to the fact that Kyrgyzstan is doing everything possible to create favorable conditions for foreign investors and entrepreneurs to do business, to implement joint economic projects.

He expressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in deepening cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields, in the field of education, finance, e-commerce, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Taking the opportunity, Sadyr Zhaparov invited Xi Jinping to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.

During the bilateral talks, the leaders paid special attention to the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, stressed the importance of accelerating its implementation.

The sides agreed to continue close cooperation on all topical issues of mutual interest.
