Progress Made in Steel Production

Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Workers at the Chollima Steel Complex of the DPRK make innovations in the production of iron and steel, true to the resolutions of the plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The complex successfully repaired oxygen plant and introduced invaluable technical innovation proposals to improve the existing production capacity while conducting technical control and equipment management in a responsible manner.

In close cooperation with relevant units, it has pushed ahead with the project to install a continuous casting machine.

Workers and technicians of its steel shop repaired electric furnaces in a short span of time to provide a sure guarantee for revitalizing production.

The rolling and fire-resisting material shops have operated equipment at full capacity while repairing tens of major equipment in a qualitative way.

The gas producer shop has taken technical measures in time to raise the operation rate of equipment by pooling creativity and collective wisdom of technicians and skilled workers.

The workers of the complex set a high goal for improving the quality of steel and are putting spurs to further strengthening the production foundations and increasing the production of iron and steel. -0-
