Doha, September 19 (QNA) - The Qatar Arabic Language Association held the first symposium of the short story forum at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), with the participation of several writers and enthusiasts. The forum, which is scheduled to be held monthly by the Qatar Arabic Language Association, aims to artistically analyze the linguistic landscape in the short story, identify the artistic changes that have occurred in the language in the narrative text, as well as determine the future of linguistic development in the structure of the Arabic sentence within the artistic text. During the forum's first symposium, critic Dr. Hassan Rashid spoke on the future of the short story in Qatar, professor of Literature and Criticism at Qatar University Dr. Murad Mabrouk discussed the short story and forms of interactive writing, while writer Jamal Fayez presented the artistic features of the short story. Questions raised in the forum included the artistic features of the language of storytelling, the changes that have occurred in the Arabic language and its artistic levels in the short story, in addition to addressing the artistic future of the language in light of information revolution and artificial intelligence. Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Arabic Language Association Dr. Maryam Al Nuaimi said that choosing the topic of the forum was aimed at strengthening the language not just for writing but also an artistic language that requires a set of characteristics, structures and metaphorical levels that change according to the specific experience. Al Nuaimi added that the importance of holding this forum comes from it being a literary and linguistic space in which participants can understand the nature of the artistic and literary language through the short story. The forum also has a role in being a place for the association and those interested in Arabic to overview the artistic language and the multiple developments it went through, thus achieving the Qatar Arabic Language Association's goal of dissecting the language, its nature and its components, she explained.
