QRCS Upgrades Water Infrastructure in Yemen
Doha, October 04 (QNA) - The representation office of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) in Yemen has launched the "Water Projects Rehabilitation" project there at a total cost of $603,556. The project's funding depends on donations from charitable people in the State of Qatar.
The rehabilitation process included the operation of 50 water projects to meet the water needs of 23,750 people in a number of Yemeni governorates.
QRCS said in a statement that the project is aimed at upgrading water sources by providing pumping and power supply systems, constructing collection tanks, fences, and control rooms, and covering wells and installing water distribution systems.
Having been launched 18 months ago, QRCS has already completed Phase 3, which involved the rehabilitation of 46 water projects at a total cost of $1,324,970. (QNA)
