Sharjah Health Authority strengthens ties with Ministry of Health in Hamburg

Sharjah (WAM): Sharjah Health Authority (SHA), has received a high level delegation comprising healthcare providers and companies from northern German states. The delegation, which was led by Elke Badde, Under-Secretary of Health and Consumer Protection, Hamburg, was welcomed by Abdulla Al Mahyan, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority and Sharjah Healthcare City. During the visit, Al Mahyan and Dr. Abdelaziz Al Mehiri, SHA Director-General, discussed cooperation in the field of healthcare with Hamburg's official. In addition, the parties also explored the possibility of entering into a Joint Declaration of Cooperation in the near future. Al Mahyan said, "Sharjah, under the wise directives and close follow-up of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is working proactively to establish itself as the preferred healthcare destination, which is why visits such as this one are so important. Our aim is to provide the highest and most advanced levels of medical care available in the region." The visit is part of the Authority's continuous efforts to strengthen bilateral ties in the field of healthcare between Sharjah and Germany and followed by the recent Sharjah Healthcare City - Hamburg and Northern German States Business Roundtable, during which Sharjah Healthcare City (SHCC) took the opportunity to give an overview of Sharjah Healthcare City as well as the wide range of investment opportunities that the project will offer German companies operating in the healthcare sector. Al Mahyan remarked that a large number of German healthcare service companies have already shown strong interest the numerous features and incentives offered to foreign healthcare investors by the Sharjah Healthcare City project. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
