Bahrain Squash Federation president congratulated

Manama, Apr. 8 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar has congratulated the president of Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation Sawsan Taqawi on winning the presidency of the Arab Badminton Federation (ABF). The decision was announced after the ABF General Assembly where Taqawi was declared unprecedented president for the next four-year term. Taqawi was declared an unprecedented president for a four-year-term during the ABF General Assembly held recently in Manama, and chaired by outgoing vice-president Omar Bilali of Morocco. Taqawi said she was proud for winning the presidency post at the Arab Badminton Federation (ABF). She added that her win reflects the significant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. She also expressed gratitude to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, who backs all the sports organisations and individuals in Bahrain and helps them achieve their goals. Taqawi noted that she will strive to set up an appropriate plan to develop badminton in the Arab region by promoting sponsorship and investment through a number of initiatives.
