Bahrain's participation in Rio2016 lauded

Manama, Aug. 3 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, West Asian Athletics Association President and President of Bahrain Athletic Federation, expressed his pride at the historic participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 31st edition of the Olympic games "Rio 2016, to be held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on August 5 -21. This is the Kingdom's biggest delegation in the history of athletic games on Arab and continental levels with 40 athletes qualifying, and 32 of them set to participate in the Olympics. His Highness looks forward to the Kingdom winning several medals, especially in athletic games, and other sports in general, and to achieve historic results that can surpass the London 2012 Olympics results, which will emphasize the Kingdom's global sport prestige. His Highness pointed out that that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation is not confined to competition, as the participation of the Kingdom comes under the directives of the wise leadership and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, on the importance of brotherhood between people, to consolidate relations between various athletes of the world, pointing out that this sport is the best way for different cultures to get together and contribute to peace, achieving the aim of these sports gatherings.
