BOC official reviews athletic team preparations

Manama, Jan. 21 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and chairwoman of the Women’s Sport Committee Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa continued her string of visits to members of Bahrain teams taking part in the 4th Arabian Gulf Women’s Sports Tournament. The tournament runs from February 2 to 12 in Sharjah, UAE, and will bring together teams from around the Arab region to compete in a number of sports. In her visit to the athletics team, Shaikha Hayat met Bahrain Athletics Association assistant general secretary Bader Nasser, board member Ruqaya Al Ghasra, executive director Yousif Ahmed and members of the team. Shaikha Hayat reviewed the training programme of the team and their preparations for the upcoming event. Shaikha Hayat urged the players to give their best in the tournament, and extend their impressive results at previous athletics competitions. She also noted the continued support of Supreme Council of Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association President HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to Bahraini athletes and his contributions to the development of athletics in the country. Shaikha Hayat asserted the administrative crew’s backing of the team at this challenging event, and her best wishes for them to achieve another plausible result, and further boost Bahrain’s sports reputation in the international arena.
