Clarifying information about tailoring of Kyrgyz national team’s Olympic uniform by Chinese company

Bishkek, Feb.17, 2020. /Kabar/. At the press conference at Kabar News Agency, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Kyrgyz Republic Salamat Ergeshov explained why the Chinese company has been selected to sew uniform at the Tokyo Olympics instead of domestic one. The other day, it appeared in the media information that the Bigser Sport domestic company was ready to provide equipment for the national team for the Tokyo Olympics, but the choice of the NOC fell on the Chinese Tectop organization. Secretary General Ergeshov rejected the data. According to him, representatives of the local organization did not appeal to them with a proposal to provide free uniforms. "The IOC (International Olympic Committee) has requirements for logos, advertising, brand use. Previously, when Bigser (Bigser Sport) approved the form, we demanded that there be no logo. We have no right to use Olympic rings, Organizing Committee and company names. They've been approached about that. Not all the team got their uniforms in time. The first group of people and we, committee members, went without uniforms. We already got the uniform there. The IOC had claims to use their Olympic rings, we had to cover them with duct tape," said the NOC secretary general. Already at the next Games in Rio de Janeiro, the parade uniform was also prepared by Dilbar Fashion House and Joma Sports House (local companies). Another reason for choosing a foreign company was the willingness of sponsors to provide equipment not only for the Olympics but also for other major competitions - the Asian Games and the Youth Olympics. "The contract with a Chinese company is for three games. They provided 250 sets for the Asian Games in Indonesia and 50 sets for the Youth Olympics. Now they will sew uniforms for Tokyo Olympics free of charge," Ergeshov said. The NOC expressed its readiness to select domestic manufacturers for the next sports cycle.
