Faisal bin Hamad Arabian Horse Show to begin on Friday

Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Honorary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), the late HH Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Arabian Horseshow will be held on Friday at 3 pm on the field of the Military Sports Federation in Al Raffa, Sakhir. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa approved the administrational and organising crews of the show, which will be headed by HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of BREEF and will include members Dr. Khalid Ahmed Mohammed Hassan, Head of the Organising Committee, Ghaleb Al Alawi, General Secretary of BREEF, Tawfeeq Al Salehi, Head of the Media Committee, Hussain Jassim Al Sakran, Head of the Hospitality Committee, Rafe’a Al Za’aby, Director of BREEF, Elias Faraj and Mahmood Mohammed Faraj. The show will be managed by an international refereeing crew that will include Swiss Rinatta Chepler, Dutch Sids Baker, Polish Fladslao Qusiok, British Susan Mary Woodhouse and Egyptian Abdulra’oof Abu Al Hassan Abbas. The competitions of the first day (Friday) will include mares of the ages of one year, two years, three years and stallions the age of 4 – 6 years, 7 – years and 10 years. It will also include the qualifying rounds of mares of the age of one year, two and three years. As for Saturday, several contests will be held for different age groups. It will include mares of the ages of one, two and three years, in addition to stallions the age of 4 – 6 years and 10 years, and qualifying rounds for male mares of the ages of one, two and three years and a stallions championship. The show will be consistent with the international standards of Arabian horseshows that are approved by the Royal Authority of Breeding Arabian Horses and in line with the rules and regulations of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations (ECAHO) and the World Arabian Horse Organisation (WAHO). Members of the organising committee of the show visited the venue of the competition to stand on the latest preparations and requirements needed to ensure the success of the show. Bahrain Sports Channel and Bahrain News Agency will broadcast the events of the show live. The organising committee announced that the invitation is open for public to attend the show and enjoy the different accompanying events.
