Federations’ role discussed

Manama, Feb. 4 (BNA): The role of the national sports federations partnering to bring the 2018 Bahrain Sports Day was presented at the orgainsing committee meeting here today. The 2018 Bahrain Sports Day is organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee for the second consecutive time, and targets both citizens and the expat community of all ages. In its second preparatory meeting, held at Elite Grand Hotel in Seef, BOC general secretary and organizing committee chairman Abdulrahman Askar conveyed the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in regard to the federations’ events that will be organized to celebrate this national occasion. The attendees also looked into a detailed report on the previous edition with its positives and negative aspects, and showed confidence that the next edition of the Bahrain Sports Day will be an all-round success. Discussions included several proposals, some of which were presented by Dr Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, who noted that all clubs and youth centres in Bahrain will be open to the public to embrace sport exercises. Transports and Communication Ministry representatives Arif Al Mansoori said his ministry has succeeded to sign up with a sponsor for its own activities during the Bahrain Sports Day. Interior Ministry’s Khalid Al Khayyat said there will be a full day sports programme at the ministry on the day, while Dr Essam Abdulla of the Education Ministry said there is more than 210 government schools will be holding a variety of sporting programmes, in addition to involving universities and private schools.
