FIFA World Cup Trophy tour to arrive in UAE 15th December

Football fans in UAE will get a glimpse of the FIFA World Cup trophy when its official global tour arrives in the country on 15th December as part of its nine-month world tour ahead of the 2014 tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The iconic solid gold trophy will be on show at Dubai's Burj Plaza from 5pm on December 15 or at the Coca-Cola Fan Zone at Abu Dhabi Corniche's Malaib on December 16, from 10am to 10pm. The trophy will visit Saudi Arabia from December 9th to 11th and Doha on December 12th and14th. The FIFA World Cup Trophy tour, an exclusive initiative from Coca-Cola, will span over 92,000 miles and will visit 89 countries during its nine-month journey. The FIFA World Cup Trophy tour was officially launched in Brazil on September 12th, before visiting the Pacific Islands, Central America and the Caribbean. After the Arabian Gulf, it will move on to Europe and South America, before returning to Brazil in April 2014. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
