Foreign Ministry to Participate in Qatar National Sports Day

Doha, February 08 (QNA) - The Foreign Ministry is preparing to participate, on the fourteenth of February, in Qatar National Sports Day (QNSD) by organizing a number of comprehensive sport events featuring health enhancing physical activity, in addition to social, cultural and recreational activities. . HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah and the Ministry staff will participate in the event in order to encourage the practice of sports as a civilized and healthy behavior and an incentive to increase social ties among all employees of the ministry outside the formal work system. These activities comes in implementation of the decision issued by HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani allocating Tuesday of the second week of February each year a national sports day. The Foreign Ministry's organizing committee of QNSD announced today that all heads of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Qatar have been invited to participate in the activity. The Foreign Ministry's programme for the QNSD will include a walking activity and a football match between teams of the Foreign Ministry and the diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar, to be followed by handing over of the cup to the winning team, the distribution of medals and the honoring of athletes.(QNA)
