Interior Minister attends shooting championship finale

Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended today the final ceremony of the Interior Ministry Shooting Olympic Championship. The event was also attended by Southern Governor, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Shooting Association Shaikh Salman bin Khalid Al Khalifa, the Chief of Public Security and the Interior Ministry Undersecretary. The Interior Minister inspected the shooting fields and the facilities, in addition to weapons and tools used by the shooting teams. After that, he attended part of the finale, in which he hailed the participants’ high skills and the honest competitions between them. He thanked the President of Bahrain Shooting Association for his distinguished role in the success of the event and cooperation with the Public Security Sports Association. President of Public Security Sports Association Col. Khalid Al Khayat said that thanks to the directives of the Interior Minister and the follow-up of the Chief of Public Security, the Interior Ministry has succeeded in reinforcing the sports culture among its employees. In the end, the Interior Minister and the President of Bahrain Shooting Association honoured the winners in the four competitions: pistol, gun, shotgun and the arrow. The championship was held from February 19 to 25 with the participation of the Bahrain Defence Force and the National Guard. (MOI)
