Iranian weightlifter Behrouzi finishes 9th at the Worlds

TEHRAN,Nov.10(MNA)--Sajad Behrouzi from Iran finished ninth in the men’s 69kg category at the World Weightlifting Championships in Paris, France on Tuesday. Behrouzi lifted 145kg in the snatch and 176kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 321kg. “I am disappointed since I could have won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk,” Behrouzi said. Deshang Tang of China won the gold medal after lifting 155kg in the snatch and 186kg in the clean and jerk to record a total of 341kg. Russian Oleg Chen won the silver with a total of 336kg after lifting 156kg in the snatch and 180kg in the clean and jerk. Chao Wu also from China claimed the bronze after lifting 150kg in the snatch and 185kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 335kg. The competitions will determine who will be eligible to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
