Iran`s Esteghlal wins thriller over Shahin

TEHRAN,Nov. 26(MNA) – Esteghlal defeated Shahin of Bushehr in Iran Professional League (IPL) thanks to a hat trick from Mojtaba Jabbari on Thursday. In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, the IPL leader Esteghlal defeated Shahin 3-2 and closed the gap at the top of the IPL table to three points. Mojtaba Jabbari opened the scoring from outside the penalty area just seconds before the break. Esteghlal captain Farhad Majidi was brought down into penalty area in the 53rd minute and Jabbari converted his penalty kick. The visiting team came from behind to draw the match. Masoud Nazarzadeh pulled a goal back in the 64th minute with a long-range shot. With just two minutes remaining, Lek Kcira scored second goal for Shahin. Jabbari completed his hat trick in the dying moments of the match. Esteghlal sits three points clear at the top of the table, followed by Naft and Saba. Elsewhere, Traktorsazi was held to a 1-1 draw by Saipa in Tabriz.
