Ireland all set to host President Cup series

Abu Dhabi, May 26, 2013 (WAM) - The President Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses, first round, will be held as part of the Etihad Airways Irish 1000 Guineas (Group 1) today. The race will be run as a part of the Irish Classics to be held at the Irish Curragh Racecourse in which the best thoroughbred horses and jockeys in Europe shall compete. The President Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses (groups) will be held for a distance of 1600 metres, and total cash prizes of Euro30,000 have been earmarked to be given out to winners under the sponsorship of the Emirates Equestrian Federation. The race is held under the directives of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the support of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee; and the follow up of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Emirates Equestrian Federation to promote the Arabian breed and tourism. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
