Issyk-Kul international marathon postponed indefinitely

The International Issyk-Kul Marathon Run the Silk Road, is postponed to a later date in connection with the situation with the coronavirus, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. The organizers noted that they would announce a new date for the sporting event in advance. The international marathon under the auspices of the SCO will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2020 for the second time. Last year it was held in Cholpon-Ata town, where professional athletes and sports enthusiasts from 27 countries took part. In December 2019, during the working visit of Director of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports Kanat Amankulov to the city of Kunming (China), twin relations were established between the Kunming SCO marathon and the Issyk-Kul SCO marathon, the report said.
