KHK MMA fighters ready for IMMAF amateur world championship

Manama, July 3 (BNA): The Bahraini MMA fighters of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad team, KHK MMA wrapped up their preparations for the World Amateur Championship organized for by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) scheduled to be held from July 5-10, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The preparations included an intensive program that spanned more than three months of refining technical skills, combat skills and developing the physical strength of the fighters, as well as boosting the moral in order to raise the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the biggest gathering of amateur mixed martial arts fighting.
The IMMAF expressed their delight, through their website immaf.org, on the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is represented by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s team for mixed martial arts. Bahrain has become a role model, which though being a newcomer to the sport was able to grow rapidly in a short period of time through participations and achievements in last event including winning a bronze medal, the winning of which has been attributed to his Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the culmination of his efforts with the team.
The Federation also emphasized that Bahrain will be a strong contender this year after the fierce performance displayed by the Kingdom’s fighters, in the previous tournaments.
Fighter Abdulla Seena has expressed his hope of winning a medal during his second participation in the World Championship for Amateurs in Las Vegas this year.
"After exiting in the first round last year, I plan to be part of the crowned winners in my second participation, that’s why I have trained hard for more than three months. Yes, the tournament will be harder but we are much better than last year and you will see a new Seena, one who is different from that of last year," he said.
Seena also assured that the team is capable of competing in the finals after the confidence gained in the participation of local tournaments held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. "I am mentally prepared to enter in this tournament and deliver my best. Our team has the winning spirit and mentality, all thanks to our leader, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The stage is set and it’s our turn to deliver," he added.
The fighter speaking about his hopes and dreams, stated: "I’m always creating scenarios in my head when I’m alone, sometimes I’m in the UFC cage and announcer Bruce Buffer says - and presenting the new Bantamweight champion of the world Adbdulla Seena."
Expressing his gratitude to all the technical and board members of the team, he said that he was hoping that their hard work is returned with the players winning medals.
Fighter Ali Ebrahimi confirmed that he was aiming to make his mark in his second participation of the World Championship. The first Tournament gave him a lot despite him exiting during the first league, which made it a strong incentive for him this year, he explained.
The preparations were grueling this year but became tougher during the last period due to fasting, he pointed out while noting that the technical staff worked with perfection to prepare the fighters physically and mentally with the focus on bring honour to the Kingdom of Bahrain and raising its name at the international championship.
Fighter Fahad Abdul Razak stressed that he is fully prepared for this world championship, which is his first participation in the tournaments organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
He is keen to appear and shine in his second appearance out of Bahrain and leave his mark in this tournament, considered to be the biggest in the world with the largest number of viewers, Razak stated and added that he will seek to be part of the fighters who will qualify to the finals. In addition, the fighter expressed his thanks to the team members for their support and standing by him.
Fighter Mohammed Adnan expressed his joy on being able to participate in his first tournament abroad, especially as it was renowned to be biggest amateur level tournament in the world.
The tournament is important to him, he stated and said that he is ready to to appear in a honourable way.
Adnan considers the tournament to be the biggest in the world as it is home to some of the most powerful fighters. He stressed he is ready to dive into the tournament following the intense daily workouts which he went through for more than three months. The fighter also was hoping that the team will come back from Las Vegas with medals.
