Kyrgyzstan to choose best sportsmen, voting begins

Bishkek, Feb.11, 2020. /Kabar/. Nominations for the Best Sportsman (Baatyr) award as part of the annual Sports Awards Ceremony have been approved. This award is given to Kyrgyz athletes for outstanding achievements in professional activity in the field of sport and physical culture, as well as to people who have made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of sport. This year's event is held for the 6th time. 26 athletes will compete for the title of best athlete on the following nominations: -Best Sportsman in National Sports -Best Sportsman in Olympic Sports -Best Sportsman in non-Olympic Sports -Best Sportsman Among People with Disabilities -Best Sportswoman Among People with Disabilities -Best Team -Breakthrough of the Year -Best Female Athlete UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko, World Champion in Women's Wrestling Aisuluu Tynybekova, as well as swimmer Denis Petrashov who has won license for 2020 Olympic Games are among nominees. The winner of the Award is determined by online voting and voting among the members of the Expert Committee on Feb. 11-27, 2020. Internet voting will take place on Feb.11-27, 2020 on the official website of the Award www.topsport.kg, on the official account of Topsport.kg in Instagram (topsport_official) and on the official page of Topsport.kg on Facebook (@awards). The awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 29 in Bishkek at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov.
