Kyrgyzstan's Belt Wrestling Championship among cadets to be held in Dzhalal-Abad city

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019 /Kabar/. The first championship of the Kyrgyz Republic on Alysh, belt wrestling among male and female cadets will be held in Dzhalal-Abad city on Dec.6-7, 2019, the press service of the National Belt Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic reported Wednesday. The sporting event will take place at the Gazprom Sports and Recreation Complex in Dzhalal-Abad. Young athletes of 2002-2004 years of birth from the regions of the republic and the cities of Bishkek and Osh will compete in freestyle according to the rules of the United World Wrestling (UWW). Competition is held in order to identify the strongest athletes and the recruitment of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic among cadets to participate in international competitions , popularization and development of belt wrestling, improving the sports skills of young athletes and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The organizers of the competition are the Dzhalal-Abad Mayor's Office, Dzhalal-Abad Oblast Department of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, the Alysh National Belt Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and Razakov Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve of Dzhalal-Abad city. Belt wrestling is a form of wrestling that is one of the oldest historically recorded sports. It involves contestants aiming to knock each other over by grappling with a belt.
