Kyrgyzstan's Valentina Shevchenko facing six-month suspension from UFC

Bishkek, Feb.13, 2020. /Kabar/. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has suspended UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko from fights for six-month period.
The suspension period is specified until Aug. 7, 2020.
The decision was made following the UFC 247 tournament in Houston, where Kyrgyzstan’s Shevchenko defeated U.S. Katlyn Chookagian by technical knockout in the third round.
It was the third successful defense of Shevchenko’s champion title. Meanwhile, Chookagian will be able to return to the octagon on Mar. 25 this year.
After each tournament the medical commission suspends the fighters for medical reasons for a certain period of time. The duration of the suspension depends on bodily injuries suffered by the fighters.
