League for special needs people to be held

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth & Sport and the President of Bahrain Athletics Association, called for creating a Football League for people with special needs as part of 4th edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Indoor Football League for Youth Centers, which is set to launch on Monday, under the slogan #meeting_of_generations. His Highness stressed that the creation of the event, especially for people with special needs, comes under the directive of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, ruler of the Kingdom of Bahrian, May God Protect Him, to give attention to this category of citizens, who are an integral part of society. His Highness stressed on the importance of giving great care and support to this category of citizens, as he considers that holding a special league for them for the first time comes within supportive programs that enhance their abilities. His Highness explained that holding the event under the Football League for Youth Centers is important to highlight the people with special needs, and work to support them by contributing to integrate them with society. HH Shaikh Khalid asserted that support to this group of people carries humanitarian initiatives from the sports leadership who are keen to serve the community, through having a close relationship which shows how great is the link between sport and humanitarian work and stressing that all effort have been dedicated for the success of the event. As part of the need to activate the role of Youth Centers as incubators for young Bahrainis, His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, expressed that the 4th Edition of the competitions matches the vision of the Supreme Council for Sports and Youth Affairs, which is headed by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee. His Highness also expressed his appreciation for Mr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs for launching the 4th edition of the league, emphasizing on the prominent role of the of the Ministry and its representatives in the league. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the active participation of youth centers, as the competitions this year witness participation from 32 youth centers from different governorates in the Kingdom. His Highness stressed that the large participation reflects on his aspirations to give care and attention to the youth by involving them in programmes that work on refining and developing their different talents. His Highness stressed that supporting young people associated with youth centers is based on the belief of the important role of the youth in society, as they are considered to be the creative energies capable of supporting national teams in indoor games, which is a key factor to serve the Kingdom in various sports events.
