Nasser bin Hamad International Endurance Championship kicks off

Manama, Mar. 18 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affair, Honorary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), the Nasser bin Hamad International Endurance Championship kicked off today at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. The championship witnessed the start of the 40 and 80-km local qualifying races and the 100-km international qualifying race, with large participation of stables and jockeys. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the large participation in the qualifying races which confirms the attainment of many goals by introducing new faces to Bahrain endurance sport, in line with the vision of BREEF, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the federation’s resolve to continue developing the endurance sport, noting the successes of the current season through the organization of many races that witnessed large participation. Regarding his vision about the main race, HH pointed out that the race will certainly witness high speeds and a great and open competition between the stables and jockeys in an effort to end the season by clinching the first places. He noted that the competition will not be limited to a team but will be open and is expected to witness excitement and competitiveness. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa wished all participants in the championship every success in showing the best levels that reflect development of Bahrain endurance sport. The Bahrain International Endurance Village will witness tomorrow Saturday the big race for the Cup of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The 120-km race of local and international private stables will also be held.
