Nasser bin Hamad to patronise "Battle of the Heroes"

Manama, Mar. 1 (BNA): HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (BWBF) and President of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (ABBF) asserted that the goal of organising the Battle of the Heroes fitness championship will encourage citizens and residents to practice fitness sports, as well as athletes and fitness enthusiasts by introducing competitions and attractive cash prizes, in addition to granting health clubs and nutritionists the opportunity to present fitness programmes and meals to players and participants and contributing in spreading fitness and sports culture in the Kingdom.
HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa appreciated the support and patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee to the championship.
He said the activity will be held at Bahrain City Centre on the 8th and 9th of April, adding that Bahrain Olympic Committee is a strategic partner in organising the championship, which includes a total of $26, 500 cash prizes and many programmes and activities for all age groups.
The federations announced recently that it will organise the Battle of the Heroes and X Dubai Spartan Race championships under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa said the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to organise the championships contributes to the efforts to achieve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sports ambitions.
HE Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of the Championship said the championship is organised for the first time in the Kingdom and the third time in the Middle East. He added that it is expected to see the participation of local, GCC and international athletes.
