Nasser bin Hamad receives AFC president

Manama, Mar. 29 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee celebrated HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Deputy President of the International Football Federation (Fédération Internationale de Football Association, FIFA) in the presence of a number of state officials in the fields of sports and youth activities. In the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserted on the key role of HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa in developing Bahraini and Asian football. He said Shaikh Salman is an efficient and pioneer Bahraini personality who led the kingdom to honourable international positions. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa honourably represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in the FIFA presidency election race and presented a comprehensive candidacy programme that would contribute in reinstating trust in the international federation. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: "We really wished for HE Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa to win the FIFA presidency elections race as we believe that the candidacy programme he presented was the best, as it was based on the highest standards of credibility and integrity set by the international organisation, as well as the points that his programme included focused on developing international football, achieving its aspirations and reinstating confidence in it."
